THE LONE VOICE OF MEENA AMMA

"Helping one person might not change the whole world, but it could change the world for one person."

On a reference call from my friend,we reached this granny living in the East coast road, Chennai. After hearing her voice over phone seeking for help.We don't mind traveling 40kms from city in this lock down period. Meena who is 74years Old women passing her days alone and seems helpless.

Food for All Chennai team were shocked to know the travails of this septuagenarian who was abandoned by her four children (three son and one daughter). Initially her daughter used to take care of her, but her husband was not in good terms with her, so her daughter also left her.

"All I am requesting them to provide me some food and shelter in some corner. But they say they are unable to do even that,” said Meena amma bemoaned.

“Nobody has given water and food to the old woman for the last few days. She was starved for help.

The helpless women has been provided with some water bottles (not even a single drop of water found at her residence) and groceries for a month from our team.

She was not comfortable shifting to old age homes as she has already been in two to three homes in Chennai. Due, to her diabetes and she also had a surgery in her left leg, she was uncomfortable to pass her days in old age homes. Our team asked her to shift her house she said the rent was already due for three months.
